I think with the lack of updates, and declining viewership, I have decided to take a long break. Or possibly stop blogging at all. It’s not because I have writer’s block or I simply don’t have anything more to blog about.

I have lots of entries that are saved as draft, but for one reason or another, I’ve stopped completing that entry or decided not to publish it. To some, blogging is about writing a diary of what’s going on everyday in your personal life and whatever problems you face. For me, I’ve always taken a blog as a podium, a means of telling the entire world what my thoughts on a particular issue or event was.

I know some of you guys read this blog, hoping to find out what’s going on in my life. I’m sorry I disappointed you guys because of the lack of updates, and diary-based entries. And for those who do know I’m not a himbo (just because of the fact I like branded stuff), and actually know what’s going on in this world, I’m sorry too, for not blogging about my opinions.

Sometimes it may not be clear on my blog, but I do not live in the United States. I live in a society that is quite conservative in terms of values and opinion, but over recent years, I can see that is starting to change. However, if you have a radically different value system from them, you will be made to feel severely guilty.

I don’t have an interest in politics but my opinions are pretty much radical. Some things I would have wanted to blog about (but I deleted them away even before publishing or saving it) could possibly break some laws in the authoritarian state I am currently living in, or get me severely flamed in some major media outlets in the state. But as long as I’m living in this country, its not wise for me to do so.

I’m hoping for the time that change can truly happen in my society, that openness and acceptance will be key. Either that, or I get enough money to move out of here and live in a more open, democratic country that supports true freedom of speech and expression, regardless of the color of your skin, your gender or your sexual preference.

Till then, this would probably the last blog entry for quite some time.

Can you see what’s wrong with this? No wonder some people have the impression that Singapore is in China…

A (very long) disclaimer: If you are the sort who will get insulted about anyone who talks about topics relating to luxury in the midst of this recession, please keep your comments to yourself. You’re always free to exit this page. Also, I bought this product with my own money that I saved up (my friends can attest to that because I’ve stopped going out completely for two months before this purchase).

To many people, getting their first Louis Vuitton is like a “coming of age”. In LV boutiques in Singapore, long queues often form outside the stores. I got my first Louis Vuitton today, it’s a Damier Graphite billfold wallet. It’s not a bag, but its some sort of an accomplishment for me. By the way, if you’re wondering why there is Malaysian Ringgit and not Singaporean Dollars, this is cos I’m vacationing in Kuala Lumpur for the Chinese New Year holidays. So here’s the pictures:

I planned to write a long entry about what I feel about Obama, and how some people’s “criticism” about him are really, senseless and unconstructive.

But I’ll just say this, “in every thing, there will be criticism, but to those who choose to ignore the senseless ones, reflect on the constriuctive ones and learn from past mistakes they or their predecessors have made, success will come slowly but surely.”

And oh, by the way, I think the budget for the Inauguration is perfectly alright, and its funded by willing donors anyway. I’d be more skeptical if my President was sleeping on the streets than staying at a hotel for the Inauguration. That’ll show that my country is too poor to even have the hope to save this recession.

I know alot of people will rebutt my opinion, since quite a handful (yes, very small minority but very loud voices) thinks Obama should give like 100% to charity and poor people because of the recession, and leave nothing for himself, his wife and his daughters. But these are the same people who obviously can afford a computer, and most of them are still living comfortable lives. So why lead by example, sell your computer and donate that money to charity? Then you can e-mail all your friends, and Obama. Oh wait, by then you won’t have a computer. (:

Anyway, that was for the detractors who seem to be the same people who criticise Obama again and again with generally baseless comments and lack of strong sources. On a lighter note, poll results from a news agency shows that with Obama’s inauguration, the majority of US citizens are more optimistic about the country’s future and economy.

I do support Obama, but it’s still too early to pin too much hope on him. Some are concerned that too many people are pinning too much hope on him, and he’d get crushed by the pressure. For now, let’s just take things slowly and let the man ease into his new job. Besides, he’s the second youngest President to ever take office in US history, so give him time and I am sure he won’t disappoint. But only time will tell.

That’s the gist of my drafted article, and I’m sure if I did post the entire article, my blog will become as infamous as XiaXue (for those who are Singaporeans/Malaysians) or Perez Hilton.

Anyway, to conclude, “to each his own”. Whether or not you support Obama, worship him or are still skeptical about him, the fact is, he’ll be the 44th President of the United States and it’ll be going down on the history books. I guess the best option for most people is to just care less.

Well, I realised that I hardly blog about personal stuff or real strong opinions on stuff in this blog. Cos you know, I don’t want my posts to be on Stomp or EDMW for the wrong reasons… I do have a private blog though where it’s password-protected and open only to the accounts of a select few of people, those who I can really trust. And most of the stuff on that blog are Stomp-worthy and also worthy of a psychiatrist. (:

But back to this blog where you can view every single entry and comment on them freely, after a while, with all the (unpaid) promotion of articles, blogs and websites, I think I want a change of direction in this blog. While I’ll still be like Kanye’s blog, and blog about random stuff that interest me, I decided to include more of my personal life on this blog. I think too much random stuff and nothing about me really makes this blog impersonal, and I feel it dosen’t belong to me.

Yes, and that includes strong opinions too, but heavily censored cos I really don’t want to get into any trouble like what happened between XX and DY. Anyway, in case you’re living on Mount Everest, the catfight’s over.’

So watch out for more posts to come. I wanna sleep (I know, its 10.45 am in the morning). I’ve been having insomnia again. Sigh.

Hey guys, if you’re ever interested in the newest version of Windows, Windows 7, do check out my gadget blog here. I posted information on how to download the ISO file for the Windows 7 Public Beta directly from Microsoft’s website, how to get the product key and stuff, all these even when the servers are “down”.

Also, I managed to get some product keys, so I’m giving one away to three people. Do check the blog out for more info.

Yes, sometimes I can be a geek. (:

It’s damn weird lah.
I’m in school. OMG.

I’m surprised I still can find my way around school,
cos I haven’t been to school for two months (three, including holidays).

The internet connection speed here is HORRENDOUS.
I wanna go home! ):
It’s like the speed at home is waaay fast cos most of the time, I’m the only person using it.
In school, the connection’s shared with like thousands of people. Super sian.

And! Tonight’s MacWorld! Steve’s not gonna present the keynote tonight, Phil, his Senior VP for Worldwide Product Marketing will be taking over instead.

Heard Phil’s a charismatic man too. Not gonna say much about Steve’s health and his recent press release though, I think many forums have pages of discussions about this already.

So, let’s just focus on what’s coming up at MacWorld 2009 later.

AT ONE time, so goes a story, a young man died from a heart attack. His soul left his body and he travelled in time. Before he knew it, he was facing Peter in some sort of a gate. The saint told him that the young man needed to answer three questions correctly to go to heaven or else his soul would go to the burning hell.

The young man was able to answer the two questions. “Name the two days of the week which start with a letter T,” Peter inquired. Instead of saying “Tuesday and Thursday,” the young man proudly said, “Today and Tomorrow.”

This brings us to the subject of yesterday and reminds me of the song composed by British singer Paul McCartney. It goes this way: “Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away. Now it looks as though they’re here to stay. Oh, I believe in yesterday. Suddenly, I’m not half the man I used to be. There’s a shadow hanging over me. Oh, I believe in yesterday.”

What about tomorrow? Here’s what the late Hollywood actor John Wayne said, “We must look always to the future. Tomorrow “the time that gives a man or a country just one more chance is merely one of the many things that I feel are wonderful in life. There’s a lot of things great about life. But I think tomorrow is the most important thing.”

Yesterday and tomorrow are “the two days in every week” in which “we should not worry,” to quote the words of Jennifer Kritsch. She urged that we need to be free from fear and apprehension of these two days.

Yesterday should be forgotten “with its mistakes and cares, its faults and blunders, its aches and pains.” Yesterday is no longer with us; it has passed forever beyond our control. “All the money in the world cannot bring back yesterday,” Kritsch wrote. “We cannot undo a single act we performed; we cannot erase a single word said. Yesterday is gone.”

Don’t worry about tomorrow “with its possible adversities, its burdens, its large promise and poor performance.” Like yesterday, tomorrow is also beyond our immediate control.

Now let’s talk about today. Kritsch has this to say: “Any man can fight the battles of just one day; it is only when you or I add the burdens of those two awful eternities — yesterday and tomorrow — that we break down. It is not the experience of today that drives men mad it is the remorse or bitterness for something that happened yesterday and the dread of what tomorrow may bring.

Let us, therefore, “live one day at a time,” urges Charles W. Shedd. “You can plan for tomorrow and hope for the future, but don’t live in it. Live this day well and tomorrow’s strength will come tomorrow.”

So, today, try to do any of the following:

Handle the hardest job. Easy ones are pleasures. Do not be afraid of criticism. Be glad and rejoice in the other fellow’s success. Be enthusiastic — it is contagious. Be fair and do no at least one decent act. Have confidence in yourself; believe you can do it. Harmonize your work. Let sunshine radiate and penetrate your relationships.

Mend a quarrel. Search out a forgotten friend. Dismiss suspicion and replace it with trust. Write a love letter. Share some treasure. Give a soft answer. Encourage youth. Manifest your loyalty in a word or deed.

Keep a promise. Find the time. Forego a grudge. Forgive an enemy. Listen. Apologize if you were wrong. Try to understand. Flout envy. Examine your demands on others. Speak love.

Think first of someone else. Appreciate, be kind, and be gentle. Laugh a little more. Take up arms against malice. Decry complacency. Gladden the heart of a child. Take pleasure in the beauty and wonder of the earth.

Welcome change as a friend; try to visualize new possibilities and the blessings it is bound to bring you. Never stop learning and never stop growing. Cheer someone.

Fight temptation. Pray for yourself and for someone. Go to church. Plant a tree. Don’t ride, walk. Run for your own sake. Jog to shed extra weight. Sing to your heart’s content.

Clean your drawer or table. Quit smoking. Wear a new shoes or shirt. Have fun. Compliment your teacher or professor. Listen.

Each day is filled with so many opportunities to experience the richness of life.
